Following the success of ORISCAV-LUX, Luxembourg Institute of Health (LIH, formerly CRP-Santé), with the support of the Ministry of Higher Education and Research, leads a second wave to monitor the changes in cardiovascular health between 2008 and 2015.
ORISCAV-LUX 2 is intended for residents of Luxembourg, who participated in the first-LUX ORISCAV study in 2007-2008. It is carried out from September 2015 to January 2017, on a sample of over 1000 adults.
This is a big project for the monitoring of the cardiovascular health and medical research.
The second wave of the ORISCAV-LUX study's main purpose is to monitor the development of cardiovascular health between 2008 and 2015.
The collected information are necessary to adapt the preventive measures put in place and to better meet the health needs of the population. In addition, it will help advance medical research in the field of cardiovascular diseases and diseases associated with aging.
The ORISCAV-LUX 2 study has, in addition, other secondary research objectives. Its results will be subject to international scientific publications.
Like the first wave, the ORISCAV-LUX 2 study consists of the same steps, with more advanced clinical examinations of the heart, physical tests and cognitive functions as well as a data collection questionnaire.
Those selected are invited to visit one of our investigation centers (Strassen, Esch-sur-Alzette, Ettelbruck) to participate. Participants will receive a completely free health check.
