Study Title

Relevance of suppressor of cytokine signaling proteins (SOCS) for the molecular pathogenesis of colorectal carcinoma.

Study Detail

Study Objective

  • Determine if methylated SOCS promotor regions can be used as markers for colon carcinoma.
  • Determine if dysregulated feedback inhibition of cytokine/growth factor signalling via SOCS proteins does contribute to the molecular pathogenesis of colorectal carcinoma

Participation conditions

Inclusion criteria:

  • Patients with a suspected or confirmed diagnosis of colorectal cancer or scheduled for surgical resection of their primary tumor and / or metastases.

Exclusion criteria:

  • Pregnant women
  • Minors (subjects less than 18 years of age)
